Sun

The Sun has brought us many good things, such as photosynthesis, life, light, and even warmth. However it has also brought drought, starvation, and rage.  It is a constant reminder of innocence, respect and goodwill lost to those who deserve it and would bring it to others, had not something happened to them, that they have done to others. To others it is a symbol of joy, happiness, liberty, and wealth, and had not those sides opposed one another so rigorously, I would not have had a lot of the inspiration given to me because of it.

To me, and to the followers of En, the Sun is a symbol of taking a side.Gray entities are preferred even though we'd prefera better word for it, because we dont even want to choose a color to represent us.No rainbows, no sunshine, no darkness, no hate. This line we inhabit is constantly at war with itself, as we enjoy the presence of all sides. The ridiculousness of taking meaning in simple acions baffle us, we deal with the complex, as in why do no sides but ours want to accept each other, why must perople fight so vigorously for their beliefs, why and how did love and hate and anger and greed even come about, where did fear come from, how did anyone even think it up, and why do we feel something when we say that word, when there was no reason for it and it didn't exist.

Don't let fear, ignorance, and tyranny conquer your lives, live to except, but not everything, and love thy neigbour as one would love thyself. Even though it's formarilly christian even Zennists have to respect that saying.

Fooled me once foul on you, Fooled me twice foul on me.

Signature

Everything leaves a signature for what it is, no matter if it be human, culture, or otherwise. Recognizing that signature and what it stands for is one of the epitomies of enlightenment. To recognize your own work and others for their quality, style, and form is a gift that can only be learned with experience and humbleness. A persons true writing will not always look, but be and feel the same as any of his/her other works, to the person who has accumulated enough experience. With those skills of observation (a key element of EN), a person can even recognize another's work in any writer. You can tell what a person has done, what they will do, and who they are simply by looking and comparing facts, such as a scrape on the palm of your hand to the way you hold yourself when you walk. There are always enigma, but with the skills bought by observation and experience, you can rarely go wrong. The only key fact of observation to truly keep as a countermeasure to what I have taught in this paragraph, is to remember, there are limits and variables to every question and fact.

There are plenty of sides to every story, we only think about two, because that is the way it is easiest to keep track of it.

Blinded

I was blinded,
Staring into the sun,
At all the truths who would come,
To me.

I was blinded,
Opening my eyes in the sea,
To Clarify my views,
To me.

I was blinded,
By Closing my eyes to the Shadows,
To annul my fears,
To me.

I was blinded,
By Opening my eyes to see,
The light of the world around me,
And Only.
To me.

"Only by acceptance can we truly see all the things that were meant for us, As is, The Light and The Shadow."

Poetry + reqests

Poetry is a dear love of mine, and I intend to share it on this blog, and you are welcome to share your work as well. However, I will accept no breach of the law. If you intend, or are found in the intent or act of plagiarizing someone's work on this site, you WILL be BANNED.

Poetry has quite a lot to do with En and Dreams.  It helps you realize your own Path, and does the same for others. It is a direct connection from your mind to the rest of the world, and equalizes a great many things. I believe that it was also a reason why America is as great as it is today. If not for Poetry, Music, and Literature, a large sum of the expressed views today, would never have been accomplished. People's Sorrows, Joys, And Indignations have a lot to do with our future. If you ever find yourself in the position or intent to write or speak, do so for it will influence something and someone somewhere, even if you do not get credit for what you think you deserve. Like Poe, Macchiavelli, Dante, and Martin Luther King Jr., or even Shakespeare, just influencing tommorow, is one of the greatest rewards. But be careful, part of the reason all of these writers I have just stated have been unhappy, is because like all great things, the time you make your decisions are very important, or they will come back to bite you.

One of the greatest decisions of all, Indecision is not only cowardice, but courage.

Anger and En (relativity)

Anger and En are quite similar. They both have pathwise relationships that are forged through certain reflective decisions. However, Anger is only a small decision in relativity to En, which is the very decision of path-making that attempts to realize a perfected status quo. And although Anger takes this relationship, it also has another as one of the key decision-elements that helps toward status quo.

Equality is the realization of seeking perfect imperfection among all sides, while at the same timeseeking only for the best for oneself.

Anger

Anger is a ballast to most people. It can hold us in our time of need, and push us to do the things we always wanted but never tried, such as writing a book or even producing music. Anger can do may thing for us, but letting it have its way with us, that's the thing we mortals can't accept. There are many ways we've tried to deal with it, we burned it out, we used it, we threw it out of us, but it always came back. Do many people know why? Yes, it is because it is not an outside entity, we make it ourselves. Yes, quite an ironic twist, but it is true, we make it, and it, in the vast majority of the time when we use it, or even let it out of our control, (giving up on holding it, (the smart thing to do)), it attempts to destroy us. But that is because we don't understand anger. Anger is a destructive force, and the only ones who have ever had success at controlling it, know that, holding the answers in our face the whole time. "Since anger is destructive, let it destroy our enemies, and divert the little that is left over to the creative inspirations for our people."

Has anyone who has ever used this method gone wrong? Yes. but it is the best way. And it is present in the teachings of many martial arts, and even in the symbolisms of Asia. The Tao balance mark Yin and Yang, or Evil and Good, (written in order,(yin is evil and yang is good)), is but one of the "accepted" as proof  to the methods, and to represent En as well is a wonderful thing. Allthough, this post was about a way to deal with anger that empties it for a long while, it does have a vast majority to do with En, though I'll save that information for my next post.

Path of En (Formal Introduction)

Hello my name is Ikion. I would first like to introduce myself and this website's purposes. Path of En is a site dedicated to Zen, more particularly a path of Zen dedicated to neutrality. En, in fact, is neutrality. Neutrality is the willingness to take sides without actually taking sides, as in the conflict of the natural decision making process. Accepting that you are one of the lowest and the highest beings on this great "Green" Earth, Terra Firma, to others, is the first step on following En. If a person cannot believe both, but only one of those two choices, out of his/her infinite number of choices, then he/she/it is pre-determined for some kind of failure. As a follower and master/student of En, you can believe me when I say that you don't "need" to believe in Zen, or any other religion, or even no religion to believe in a path, even the one I have chosen for myself. En accepts all religions, the absence of one, and no religions, all at the exact same time. We are willing to accept all things as the Plural Individuals, that every human on this Earth, has the right to accept as a part of themselves.

 Even Chaos has an Order.
