Independance Day

We march forward, forward,
All the while,
The blood-red sun is at our backs,
And the fields we've left behind are colored black.
The war we've won with tragedy,
And death we've dealt to our own kin,
Is it worth the fight for freedom,
When our children laugh and mistrust?

Is it worth the fight for freedom,
When blasphemy and mental sin,
Are all the future holds?
Are these bloodstained skys,
Worth the trials,
That all lie ahead?

The slavery,
The movements,
Radicals even now,
Is insanity the price to pay,
For love, kindness and peace?

To many, Independance Day is a time to celebrate, whatever country won its independence from another country, often in war. It celebrates current freedom. But that freedom was EARNED. The day of independance is not meant to just celebrate our current freedom, but to mourn the costs of it. The fireworks and firefly all celebrate, the tragedy and joy, in the making of those days, and I urge those who have Independance days, to, on that day, not only set off your fireworks, or watch some if you prefer, but to set aside a candle, for all those who lost their lives, and liberties, In the wars that have taken place.

"Pity is but a fool's errand, True kindness, love and respect will last throughout ages."
